I have been away from blogging, trying to put together a charity fundraiser event inworld called Operation BlackOut.  After watching the news special on CNN about the East African Food Crisis, I was heartbroken.  Watching the children on the screen cry out in suffering and pain really touch me as a mother, and moved me to start planning that same night.

I presented the event to my SL Sorors of Sigma Upsilon Nu, SL Sorority, who quickly agreed to chair the event and get started.  We were very grateful to have KHNY, Honey 103 radio station to join in with us as well.

Operation BlackOut will be held August 26-27, 2011 from 6pm-9pm slt.  There will be two dance parties on these days, both from 6-9pm slt, where anyone can come, party, and give to the Save the Children Organization, who are currently assisting the children of the East Africa Food Crisis.  There will also be a 24 hour auction, where we will auction out items from designers and builders to help raise funds for the events. We will have an ongoing hunt, soon to follow the kickoff events.
